Fun in my Diapers!

So life has been so crazy lately. Our schedules are so out of whack and we just can't seem to keep any routine right now! But we cherish the little moments we do have at home to just relax and play! The boys have such a good time together and I just love sitting back and watching them interact. God has really blessed us :)

Garage Sale Find!

 

 

 

So saturday morning we found this pop up tent of Thomas the Tank for $4 at a garage sale and I was so excited! Caleb's friend Joe has this same exact tent at his house and that is all he wants to play with when he is there.So I was looking for it on criagslist or at least something like it(we aren't big fans of Thomas) I was really hoping to store it away till Christmas but John couldn't wait. I thought it would be really fun if we put a TV down there and watch a movie! Caleb and Jack agreed! We have had so much fun with this thing, it's been outside, in every room of the house and they love it when mom gets in there. We have dance parties!! I LOVE GARAGE SALES!

So Caleb finally asked to get into his monkey costume! He was so scared of it a week ago but we kept working on him and making baby steps towards getting him in there. So proud of my little monkey!

Kinetic Sculpture Race

 

 

 

 

So we got to go to the 2008 Kinetic Sculpture Race at the Harbor. It started with a 5k that I was able to run and then it continued with this awesome Kinetic race! They build their own sculpture vehicle thingy!! It has to float around the harbor then they do a race in the sand on the beach and it ends in a mud pit race. We didn't stay for the whole thing but it was really cool to watch the beginning!

My FIRST 5K!

So when Caleb was a few months old and I had all this time sitting around nursing all day, I had kind of had a revelation of my life...don't worry I won't go into details, but one thing I realized was that I never truly set goals for myself and accomplished them. I'd set goals and quit or never set goals cause I never thought I was good enough at anything to finish (single tear). But I began to realize that I can do anything as long as I give it to the Lord and honor Him through it! So I decided to set a small goal of running a 5k. Well as I began to train and get ready to sign up for a run I found out I was pregnant with Jack. Then after I had Jack I decided to wait till he slept through the night so that I had enough energy through out the day to train. Well it took him 7 months to sleep through the night and so I began running in June. Needless to say Sue Dudley and I ran the "Turning Point Kinectic Run" at the Ventura Harbor This morning, Even though I had only slept 4 hours and am still fighting a horrible cold. God is Good! I was able to finish and beat my own time. I had an absolute blast and am so grateful that Sue, John, my boys, and Scott were able to be there with me! I cannot wait to watch God help me accomplish my next goal...LOOK OUT 10K!

Baby Steps

 

 

 

 

We have a monkey costum for caleb,that a friend let us borrow, but he got a little freaked out by it when he first saw it. We are slowly easing him into it.

 

 

 

 

So today was Ojai Day and it was a lot of fun. We got to see animals, old friends and hippies!! It was really fun! We even got to go on a hay ride where a man with a guitar sang the praises of this wonderful town. We can't even wait till next year!

Today Jackson enjoyed his first ride in his new car seat! He loves it! He is officially a big boy now :(

One Year and 28 minutes ago!

Jackson's 1st Birthday!

He is a "Leg Man"

So some have you have heard and some of you have experienced first hand that Caleb is very much a "Leg Man". There have been several occasions where I have caught Caleb walking up to different women (all women that we know) and just running his hand up and down there legs (like A Christmas Story), well today was no exception. I picked Caleb and Jack up at our good friend Sara's house, and as we were talking she began to laugh. We both look down to see that Caleb has seated himself down by Sara's leg and was rubbing it gently. I apologized and told her he does it a lot. Caleb also thinks everything is "very nice" (ie: "oh mommy orange juice very nice")So as we were walking away Caleb told us, " Oh Sara's leg very nice"!! It was Perfect. We were cracking up!

Potty Chart.

 

 

 

 

So I decided we needed to put up a chart quickly to keep the excitment going. I knew we couldn't afford to take caleb to baskin robbins everytime he went to the bathroom so we thought stickers would do the trick! Again, we aren't really pushing the idea just yet...just encouraging it. Caleb has very strong opinions and he doesn't like to budge, plus I think there is still a little fear involved. So we'll just encourage, make it fun and hope for the best!

Pee Pee,Pee Pee, Pee Pee on the Potty!

 

 

 

 

Caleb got up from his nap this afternoon with a stinky diaper, I always remind him if he needs to go poo poo or pee pee to tall mommy and we can go on the potty! After I changed his diaper he asked "mommy Potty?" I asked him if he wanted to go pee pee on the potty and he said yes and ran to the bathroom. He sat down and I told him if he went we would go get ice cream! I went to go get him something to drink and when I came back he had PEE PEED!! YAY! We danced, we shook it, we went to Baskin Robbins! I thought the comment on the wall was too appropraite. Who knows when this will happen again but when it does we will party!
